QUALITY ASSURANCE

To provide superior testing services for its clients, MICROBIOTEST maintains its own Quality Assurance department which monitors individual studies for compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP). Studies are inspected as required to ensure that the testing is performed according to the protocol, MBT standard operating procedures and GLP or GCP regulations.

In addition, the Quality Assurance unit is responsible for education and on-going training of MICROBIOTEST employees. All new laboratory staff participate in company-mandated GLP training. For employees working in the Clinical Laboratory, GCP training is also prescribed. In addition, in-house training is performed periodically throughout the calendar year for all staff. Any staff member who wishes to obtain additional instruction via off-site training programs is encouraged to enroll in those programs which will enhance general knowledge and understanding of good laboratory practice procedures.

MICROBIOTEST is committed to the highest level of quality assurance, and was the first contract laboratory to receive certification through The Council for Antimicrobial Quality in its laboratory accreditation program (April 2002). In addition, our quality assurance manager is a Registered Quality Assurance Professional in Good Laboratory Practices, and QA memberships include The National Capital Area Regional Society of Quality Assurance as well as The Society of Quality Assurance.
